Supported Employment

Community Connections/Employment Connections offers support to job-seekers, school leavers, their families/whānau and employers to help break down barriers to employment for disabled people and people with ongoing mental or physical health challenges.

We also can support you to achieve employment and thrive on the job by providing help writing your CV, learning how to interview and apply for jobs, arrange for pre-employment training and on-the-job support that is specifically tailored to each person.

Evaro provides three services in the Greater Wellington region, they are Evaro Transition, Evaro Employment and Evaro Community Participation. Our aim is to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities by supporting their choices of where they live, learn, work and play.

We provide help for adults, who are living in the community and who have mental illness or an intellectual disability. We support people to reach their goals, whether that is learning a new daily living skill, tapping into social networks in the community, assisting with housing, or exploring work or study options. We will also have a social net working centre next year, based in Lower Hutt. Our social networking centres are relaxed and comfortable places where people can take part in vocational, recreational and social activities – or just come in for support and company.

We support jobseekers with disabilities or health conditions, as well as employers and workplaces across the country, with more than 75 employment consultants in 22 centres nationwide. Workbridge is an incorporated society and a not-for-profit organisation. Our services are free for employers and eligible  jobseekers.
